The enRAGE mod brings a Nemesis system to Red Dead Redemption 2, adding personal grudges, rival factions and evolving gang wars. The Lord of the Rings gamesMiddle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War introduced the Nemesis system, a mechanic that makes enemy orcs remember encounters with the player, develop rivalries and return seeking revenge. The system helped set the games apart by turning random encounters into personal vendettas that could evolve over time.
